The Whittlesea Pacers Basketball Beginner Programs are designed to introduce young players to the fundamentals of the sport in a fun and supportive environment. These programs focus on teaching essential skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and basic game strategies.
By providing structured lessons, beginner programs help children build confidence, coordination, and a strong foundation in basketball. As players progress, they develop better teamwork, communication, and decision-making abilities, which all contribute to improved performance on the court.
Through consistent practice and guidance from experienced coaches, children learn how to apply these skills during games, enhancing their overall athletic ability and setting them up for future success in basketball!

Aussie Hoops is our fun and welcoming introduction to basketball for young beginners at the Whittlesea Pacers. Designed around Basketball Australia’s official Aussie Hoops program, sessions focus on learning fundamental skills like dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork through engaging games and activities.
Our program prioritises confidence, coordination, and enjoyment in a positive, inclusive environment. With modified equipment and age-appropriate coaching, every child is supported at their own pace. Experienced Pacers coaches ensure sessions are safe, structured, and full of encouragement.
Whittlesea Aussie Hoops is the perfect starting point for families beginning their basketball journey with the Pacers.
Important Update to Aussie Hoops
From 20th October, as Basketball Australia move away from Mber+, Delivery Centres that offer the mainstream starter pack process, will now have a seamless Ford Aussie Hoops participant pack option directly through PlayHQ at the time of registration.
Late Purchases: Participants who miss buying a pack during registration can still purchase one from the Aussie Hoops online store.
